Partners

  • DR ALEX WATTERS

    MBChB DRCOG MRCGP

    Dr Watters studied at Warwick University and qualified in 2008. She initially came to Brookside during her training as a GP Registrar and then returned in 2016 as a Salaried GP. She became a GP Partner in 2020 and is one of the training doctors in the practice supporting our GP Registrars. She has an interest in Women’s Health, Family Planning and Paediatrics.

  • DR JONATHAN MENON

    MUDr MRCGP

    Dr Menon studied at Charles University, Prague and qualified in 2009. He started as a Salaried GP at Brookside in 2016 and has since gone on to become a GP Partner in 2020. His interests are Diabetes, Musculoskeletel Medicine and Men's Health. Dr Menon is one of the training doctors in the practice supporting our GP Registrars. Sport is a particular passion with Rugby and Triathlon dominating most of his spare time (when not tearing after his children).

  • DR NICK TYRRELL

    MBChB, BSc (Hons)

    Dr Tyrrell studied at The University of Manchester before studying Medicine at Warwick Medical School and qualified in 2012. He has since worked in a variety of hospital posts in Merseyside and the West Midlands. His interests include musculoskeletal medicine and minor surgery. Nick originally trained here as a GP Registrar but has now re-joined the team as a fully qualified GP as has since become a GP Trainer himself.

  • DR BENJAMIN THURLOW

    MBChB, MRCGP, BSc (Hons)

    Dr Thurlow studied for a BSc in Anatomy and Physiology at the University of Leeds before completing Medicine at the University of Warwick where he qualified in 2005. He has worked as a full time GP in Rugby for the last 13 years. His areas of interest include Dermatology and Cardiology. Outside of Medicine, Dr Thurlow is a keen Cyclist.

Nurses

    RGN

    Pat first joined the Practice in 2004 and then returned in 2011 following a year working in Coventry as a Specialist Respiratory Nurse. She has a diploma in chronic disease management with a particular interest in respiratory conditions. Pat leads our asthma and COPD clinics but is also available for a range of nurse appointments.

  • NURSE HARRIET

    Harriet came back to nursing in 2019 after having 15 years out to pursue other interests and raise a family. Harriet helps Dr Menon with our Chronic Disease Clinic and is also available for a variety of nursing appointments

Practice Management

  • MADELEINE CLARK

    Madeleine is our Practice Manager. She has worked in GP practices since she was a student and worked up to becoming a Practice Manager in 1995. She then joined Brookside in 2000. She is responsible for the administration and coordination of the practice and welcomes any comments you may have on the service you receive.

Administration

  • GEORGIA .

    Trained Chaperone

    Georgia is our Practice Administrator and Adult Named Safeguarding Co-ordinator. She joined the practice in 2016 and is responsible for a range of administrative duties and the digital innovation of the surgery. As well as this, she manages the appointment book system, social media and website. She also helps cover Reception, Dispensary and Secretarial duties when needed. Outside of work she enjoys spending time with her family, dog and horse.

    Trained Chaperone

    Denise joined the practice in 2016 as an Administrative Assistant. Since 2022 she has taken over the role of Secretary where she types and processes GP referral letters.

Reception

Our receptionists and are your first point of contact and will help with any queries you have and make appointments. They will help you as much as possible but cannot give any medical advice.

    Trained Chaperone

    Sue has worked as a Receptionist at Brookside since 2007. She is also our Named Child Safeguarding Co-Ordinator.

  • STACEY .

    Trained Chaperone

    Stacey started here in 2021. Before this she worked as a travel agent for 8 years. Her time outside worked is filled up by her two boys.

  • NICOLA .

    Trained Chaperone

    Nicki joined the surgery in November 2023, coming from a retail background. She likes to travel to different places and experience new thing's with her children and husband.

Dispensers

Our dispensers supervise the care of medicines that the doctors prescribe. This is done by ordering, issuing and dispensing repeat or acute medications. They are trained to be able to provide you with appropriate advice about your prescriptions.

    Juliet started here in 2016 after being a NNEB qualified Nursery Nurse for 10 years. Outside of work her interests include Dance and spending time with her children.

  • KAREN .

    Karen started at Brookside in 2022 and has worked in dispensing for 6 years. Previous to this she has worked as a District Nurse and a Health Care Assistant

  • ASHLEY .

    Ashley started Brookside in 2022 after working in pharmacy for 7 years.

  • STEVE .

    Steve started at Brookside in 2023 as a dispensary assistant. In 2024 he became a qualified dispenser.

  • JESS .

    Jess started as a dispensary assistant at Brookside in 2021. Before this she worked in a Pharmacy for 2 years. In 2024 she became a qualified dispenser.

  • POLLY .

    Polly joined Brookside in 2024. She previously worked in community pharmacy for 3.5 years as a phlebotomist and dispenser. She enjoys spending time with her two boys and husband.

Community Midwives

Our midwife sees all our pregnant ladies for their routine antenatal care and looks after them for the first few weeks after delivery. She holds her clinic on Monday and Friday afternoons.

Rugby Health

We are part of the Rugby Health Network which is a team of healthcare professionals that provide specialist services for GP Practices around Rugby. These include Dieticians, Clinical Pharmacists, Podiatry, First Contact Physios, Occupational Therapists and Mental Health Workers. They also manage Enhanced Access which provides GP and Nurse appointments in the evenings and weekends. Appointments are either here at the surgery or at one of their other bases in Rugby.   • HAYLEY .

    Hayley is our First Contact Physio who helps treat short term musculoskeletal problems (joints and muscular injuries). First Contact Physiotherapists (FCPs) are physiotherapists who are experts in assessment and management. They can request investigations and refer you to hospital if necessary. This gives you faster access to expert diagnosis and you’ll leave with advice and a plan to tackle the problem.

  • NADIA .

    MPharm PGCert

    Nadia is our Clinical Pharmacist. She completed her Masters in Pharmacy at Aston University in 2013 and then her postgraduate studies at Keele university in 2020. She has worked as a Clinical Pharmacist in the hospital, community pharmacy and manufacturing setting and joined Brookside in 2021.She is the Senior Pharmacist in Rugby and oversees the training of junior pharmacists. Her main role is in reviewing medications, ensuring safe and appropriate prescribing with a specialist interest in hypertension and cardio vascular disease.
